AGOA Forum 2023
Three members of the Catalyze team attended the 20th AGOA Forum 2023 (also known as the US-sub-Saharan Africa Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum), flying into Johannesburg to meet with exporters, buyers and associations from across Africa and the U.S.
The Forum brings together the governments of the United States and AGOA-eligible countries, as well as representatives from key regional economic organisations, the private sector, civil society, and labour, to engage in discussions on how to strengthen trade and investment ties between the United States and sub-Saharan Africa and how to promote resilient, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth and development.
The Forum also features the ‘Made in Africa Exhibition’ which showcases regional value chains on the continent.
Our Managing Director Rex Bowden sat on a panel at the AGOA Forum titled “Unlocking Trade Opportunities: AGOA and Beyond” focused on “Understanding AGOA, Continental beneficiaries, Opportunities and guidelines for utilizing AGOA and trade policies and opportunities.”
Joining Rex on the panel were Shaquan Teasly, Founder, Algate Solutions (USA), Larry Yon, Partner, B&C International (USA), and Miit Pandoliker, Managing Director, Luano Honey (Zambia).
Catalyze met with over 200 exporters and buyers during the event, all excited about the prospect of driving U.S. and African trade.
